Célestin is completing his BSc and MSc research on the Wallcreeper, an emblematic bird of high elevation cliffs and rock faces within the Alps. He has spent many years monitoring Wallcreepers in his native Valais and is now applying his expert field knowledge towards the development of sophisticated species distribution models to predict changes in its winter and breeding distributions across Switzerland under various climate scenarios. This project will also lay the groundwork for developing a species-specific population monitoring program and improving population size estimates.
